Years ago on reddit we found people discussing a lan party and wanting to set up a simple server that everyone could play and have a good time on. Someone created something for Unreal Tournament GOTY, but there wasn’t something simple for UT2004 that had extra mods and custom stuff to expand the gameplay.

This is where our LAN-in-a-BOX product helps out. This is a prepackaged UT2004 DEDICATED SERVER designed to run on WINDOWS. You can run it anywhere in your network. By default it has map voting enabled, with multiple different game modes. The server will NOT broadcast out of the internet. 

If you’re looking for a easy to set up dedicated server that is designed to face the public, check out our much newer option “InstaServer for UT2004” which is up to date, and allows you to operate a server in a post epic games server environment.

How are files served to clients joining?

By default it will use our internet servers that host this pack for you without any additional work. If you are running on a true LAN with no internet, you can download the redirect package and bundled web server to help you out. Both links are below.
