I am posting my anger here because hopefully some other member may have ran into this issue. My connection is from Time Warner, and I have RoadRunner Extreme service to the house, which is more than enough to run the game servers on.
I have been noticing a problem, and the problem has come up before and the technician fixed some cabling and it was good. Now the problem is back and I did all of that.
I have a Motorola Surfboard Docsis 3 modem, a Zonet 16 Port Rackmount Gigabit switch, and a lot of cables.
The issue at hand is I can download a file on a site, for example the UT2004 Dedicated server package that is 900MB, I go to extract it and regardless on which computer it is on, and whatever website I am getting that file from. I extract it and get a PILE of CRC errors.
On the modem page it says I have a few correctable errors on the modem page, and the uncorrectables is under 50 since yesterday. I can assume that this is ok.
I will not call their national help desk because that are the most incompetent pile of idiots this side of the mississippi. Last time when I called about this problem the guy told me to call Motorola, which is BS and you all know it. It's their modem, it says "Property of Time Warner Cable" and they lease it to me for money.
I know another great way to get to local support of people in the city next to us, call and go to the billing center and then ask for tech support. You will get the local office, not the national helpdesk.
