If things work and you don't need to update anything, there is no reason for trying to update. I just make sure I have the newest drivers on the computer when I first install things, and all you have to do is go the manufacturer's site (if it's custom go to each of the part's sites) and download them and install them

Otherwise there is really not that much of a benefit especially if you don't know exactly what you are doing, incorrect drivers can cause crashes...

Works fine no problems. I just thought that it would run better if it was updated.

Usually with Vista and Windows 7 (Unless I'm tragically mistaken) It will prompt you in the Action Center or whatever if Driver Updates are available. However, like Muffin said if it works good then you really have nothing to worry about. However if your drivers are from 2-3 years ago, you might want to get the updates.

How do you tell if you have an old driver or a new one?
I went to the Control Panel. Opened driver manager I went down the list.
I picked out one of my driver's. And I wrote down the number to the old driver.oid version 5.12.4.1196. So how do you tell if you were getting a new version of a new driver? Is it by the numbers? How are you a sure it is the new driver.
I went looking for new driver audio device this is the device.
Windows XP 32-bit, Creative SB Audigy 2 (WDM). And this is the number I come up with is the newest version 6.0.01.1371. PC pit stop is the only one that halves this version. A dilemma what to do. Everything works fine no problems I am trying to get one step ahead of the game?
