Just a fun note here:

I am so pissed on how ISPs feel that residential doesn't need a good upload speed. Especially in our area, we get shafted because Time Warner has zero competition so they don't need to boost their upload speed. Back when I had the TDS Service I had

    4500kbps download, 4500kbps upload.

It was nice because I could BitTorrent files back just as fast as I download, first off making me download files like 10X faster because I seed back more. And I don't need to leave it in the app much longer after it's done to share 100% of it back to people.

Also I had two of my game server boxes at home running servers all the time and it was smooth, not bad lag at all.

ISPs do not have to pay anymore for Upload than they do Download, because bandwidth is bandwidth...

    man residential upstreams are weak!

i should have posted my speeds from before I moved, back when I was living with the kids from Computer Science House. Those people don't mess around with getting bandwidth.

Well, here's a result from the computer lab... sorta.

It's an old result before there was a a server in Stanton to test on, so it's probably even faster than that. Unfortunately those Linux boxes seems to have vomited flash out of themselves, so I couldn't test it again. For now, at least.

I should send you a couple servers that you can run from your apartment :D that has more than an adequate connection. And it appears from the speeds that you are not T1 in anything, you are on a frame relay which is a huge pipe that all major companies in your area of the state can share (it's a lot cheaper than "dedicated" bandwidth)

Wisconsin does it and I bet Michigan does too.
