      it's been awhile since a post on the thread but I gotta brag. The one I usually use is old as dirt, so I'm pretty pumped. I have all the parts, just haven't assembled it.

      I have also made a few changes to my computer, This is off of the top of my head.

      CPU: AMD Phenom 9950 (2.6GHZ x4)
      MOBO: ASUS SLI Deluxe
      RAM: 8GB CORSAIR DDR2-800
      HDD: 128GB Corsair SSD, 300GB WD Raptor, 2TB Drobo (www.drobo.com)
      OS: Windows 7 Home Premium x64
      VIDEO: NVidia Ge-Force GTX 280
      MONITOR: 2x 22" Sceptre DCLCD Displays
      SPEAKERS: 200watt Logitech 2.1 Set up (also has 5.1 but room not 5.1 friendly)
      OPTICAL: DVD Burner, 20x

      Yay for thread necromancy! Following one laptop meltdown and the theft of another, I have a new Thinkpad. Specs:

      Model: W500
      CPU: Core2 Duo T9600 (2.8 GHz, 6M L3 cache)
      Video: AMD FireGL v5700 (512M) + Intel GMA 4500 (switchable)
      Screen: 15.4" 1680x1050
      Memory: 4gb DDR3 1066 MHz
      HD: Hitachi 7200 RPM 320GB
      Optical: reads and writes everything short of Blu-ray

      Of course, a week after I got it, they introduced the W510. That machine comes with a choice of any of several quad-core i7 CPUs and a 1GB nVidia GPU. It wouldn't have mattered though; mine was refurbished and marked down by $800.
