Thread: God i hate steam!!!!

Steam is seriously pissing me off now. I love Left 4 Dead 2 but the admins on there are completely useless and abusive. You guys know me, so when I play I'm not destructive or ignorant like other noobs that deserve to be acted upon. Well when I'm playing the admins decide they want to mute me when I laugh at someone for messing up (not in a mean way just a haha move on kinda thing) and when someone calls everyone names and complains the whole match, nothing is done to them -___- And also, some admins will even hack in their favor, like spawn tanks and witches, and even 3 tanks in one spot. I ask him to stop and he just laughs at me and kicks me from the game. I go to Steam's website to complain, and all they say about it is "If you come across an abusive admin in game, you can move to a new server." Which of course makes sense, that's what I normally do. But they basically say you have no right to complain. And to me that says "We don't care if our admins are abusive to our customers that buy our games and make accounts with us, we allow our admins to be unfair players." I really don't know why Steam is like this, its like its run by a bunch of children. What do you all think?

Might I also add that Steam DOES have a place to fix "Admin Slowhacking" which is basically some kind of hack that ruins the way you play the game, or ruins game configurations or whatever. So basically... we're only allowed to complain if we can't play at all? Not if it just gets really unenjoyable?

call them dumb shits and try to talk with the CEO or main man in charge to get them fired at steam support

Well whoever that is is obviously not that smart. So it will probably do nothing. But I did write them a big long letter about it all in steam support.

Steam is a game delivery platform and is not related to Left 4 Dead 2. Sure it runs on their network but the game itself is not steam. When you join servers you're playing by that server's rules. Steam employees are not admins on game servers, where you got this I don't know. It is not different from my UT2004. If I wanted to I can screw up your game from running properly through remote commands. Do I want to do this? No (Unless the player is deserving).

Steam is run by some of the smartest people in the industry, nobody has been able to compete against steam to a point where Steam would ever worry about competition.

So in summary what you essentially did would be comparable to someone complaining of an admin on our Llama Punter website about a server that uses our network. I have no control how they run their servers, I am just offering a service to enhance their server. (Just like Steam enhances Left 4 Dead)

I'm sorry for my ignorance, I didn't really know that, I just assumed that Steam was responsible for the admins because they had an admin complaint center. I haven't really been able to find a place to tell the people that actually ARE responsible. And when I do for some reason something happens to where I can't say anything, like it won't let me make a new account to use the forums in some places. And when I talk to an admin in game, they deny that anything like abusive admins happen and won't tell me where I can go to learn more about it or anything. Steam was always the first place I went to for help, so that's where I went to tell them about the admins on the servers. I'm sorry for complaining, at the time I was just angry and wasn't really thinking that straight. I just have to remember that most servers and admins in other games won't be as clean and well kept as the ones we have here.

just go to the server's website and complain there :)

I have no idea what server it was or who owned it. Its servers arent really like the ones we have, I havent been able to find a way to save one or go back to it when i want to.
