Learning the Concepts of PWC's Version of Dodgeball for UT2004.
NOTE: Dodgeball was not originally created by us. We did however modify quite a few things for our needs. If you feel like using our version for yourself, none of the maps designed for ours will work with other versions.

How Game is Scored:

There are two teams, Blue & Red. Each round is not timed, but usually does not last for long as maps are relatively small. The game runs up to 15 points total before the map is complete and voting commences. At the beginning of each round everyone spawns in your area, part of the PWC edition is all spawns are identical for both teams. The round is over once all from one team is eliminated into the prison.

Shielding the Dodgeball:
You can easily shield gun a dodge ball by walking up near to it, but not near enough to pick it up, aim it the direction you want it to go and give it a blast. The Colored Trail in your team color means if it hits another player without them catching or shielding it back you got them out. Balls that land on the ground go neutral again.

Using Ball Launcher:
If you catch a ball or walk over a ball to pick it up, you will switch to the PWC Ball Launcher. This is a device to precisely control your shot. You can charge it up by holding down the fire. DO NOT OVERCHARGE IT or you will completely ruin the shot. Make sure before it maxes out to release. You can also build up curve by spinning your mouse wheel either direction while charging. One important thing to note is to be inconsistent with your charging. Skilled players can predict when you're going to launch it so they can catch it.

Catching the Ball:
This is a catchy science in Dodgeball. First off to catch a ball you cannot have the ball launcher on the screen you have to have the shield gun. While it's coming close to you within the same range of you being able to alt-fire the shield gun. This will cause the gun to try to pick up a ball within range. Of course if the ball in range is the one flying at you from a player you will catch theirs. If it is a teammate, it will not do anything, if it's an enemy's ball they will be out for the round.

Freeing yourself:
If you are in the Dodgeball Prison you can get yourself out by hitting a person in game. This makes for a very fun team effort. Constantly people request "pass" for someone in game to pass them some balls so it becomes a very challenging for the enemy. If someone in prison has their ball caught it will state they are in the prison permanently for the round, which is not true due to a game bug. Ignore it.

Multiplayer Note:
To keep the game more balanced you are not allowed to walk with a ball if there is more than one person still in play from your team. If you're the last one left on your team you can move with the ball. If you dodge a lot, you can still move if you dodge into a ball, of course when you land you cannot move :-) but some movement is better than none.
